This is the first year of primary school and children get excited about so many things. Meeting new friends and playing new games are just a few of them. In this level, focus is on math and letters; how to count and trace letters. Children also learn to recognize shapes under geometry. They learn about shapes like triangles, square, oval, circle, squares and more. More interestingly, they learn how these shapes are related to many everyday objects. Given that students go in different directions when they walk or play, spatial awareness is another skill to have. This page also features reception worksheets on spatial sense and directions. Children will learn simple positions: on top, under, middle, left, right, center etc. Children will also learn how to count, how to spell numbers, how to recognize numbers and how to color and trace numbers. Parents of children between 4 to 5 years old will find these resources useful.
Math for 5 year olds requires colorful and well-illustrated activities. We have got these all covered. All our worksheets are free pdf downloads. Simply print out and practice with your kids. Feel free to also share these resources.
