1st grade mixed operations game - At this level, students will often encounter operations like addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Most problems seen until now usually contain one operation e.g. addition or subtraction. In this exercise however, there will be cases where students will solve problems that contain more than one operation for example 3 + 2 � 1 =. Such problems are what are referred to in this activity as mixed operations. Also, students will have a mix of problems to solve, some containing problems in which equations need to be balanced; others are simply addition or subtraction problems. This activity also integrates the snakes and ladders board game in which students will have to avoid snakes and strive for ladders although this can only be dictated by the random outcome of a dice. This game is for students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades.
